Bangalore, Part 2

We spent Saturday running some errands and getting things done.  I did some laundry in the morning and then in the afternoon we went out find a place to ship a package.  I have done too much shopping (aren't you all surprised?), and my suitcase was too heavy.  as a result I had to ship some stuff back to the States early.  Luckily my cousin's driver, Eshwar, was able to get us to a place that seemed to know what they were doing.  Once the package was shipped it was off to the mall to do some more shopping (just little stuff this time).

Sunday we went to Nandi Hills about 60K from Bangalore. Nandi Hills is a solid mass of granite that rises almost 4900 feet above sea level.  From here you can see miles and miles of the countryside.  And monkeys.  Lots and lots of monkeys.  Nasty little thieving monkeys.  I liked the countryside best.  There used to be a fort on the site and the walls are still visible in some places as is the Nandi temple, housing a Nandi, the bull, statue.

After Nandi Hills we went to the ISKCON temple.  It is a Hare Krishna temple built in the late 1980s.  It is a series of 3 temples.  We use the "express lane" and bypass the enormous crowds (and pickpockets).

Next we walked around downtown Bangalore which is incredibly busy especially for a Sunday night.  There are lots of shops, vendors and restaurants.  We ate at a restaurant on the top floor of a building that has spectacular views of the city.

Internet connection is still slow so sorry still no photos.
